Best practices are not hard and fast rules. If you are already maintaining a consistent structure in your project then there should be no reason to switch to other conventions..

There can be multiple set of best practices for the same technology.

As long as you follow one of them (or even if your are following your own set of rules) you should be fine.

I can't convince you to do something. because a camelCase and kabab-case doesn't make any difference in terms of usability and performance.

They are just nice to follow and maybe most people follow these rules and that's why they are called best-practices
